Tend the transitions
How do the in-between moments of our days remind us to rest with Jesus?
Welcome to Day 2 of Begin Again: Back to School at Restful. Over these three weeks, we’re easing our way into rhythms of rest and prayer as summer gives way to autumn. Each reflection is meant to slip into the edges of your day, offering space to pause and turn again toward Jesus.
This week, we’re practicing curiosity about the lives we are actually living. Yesterday, we began by reflecting on our day, our real day, and taking note of what actually happened instead of what we hoped or expected would happen. Did you try the reverse to-do list? What did you notice about your habits, your energy, or the interruptions that filled your hours? How did it feel to simply observe without judgment?
Today, we’ll build on that awareness by turning our attention to the natural transitions of the day—those moments between activities or parts of the day that often go unnoticed but carry an invitation to pause and rest. Befriending reality is a way of paying attention to the real presence of God with us here and now.
