Welcome to Day 3 of Begin Again: Back to School at Restful! Over the past two days, we’ve begun practicing curiosity about the life we are actually living. On Day 1, we reflected on our real days with a reverse to-do list, noticing what actually happened instead of what we expected or hoped would happen. Yesterday, we tended the natural transitions of the day—those hinge points from morning into midday, midday into evening, and evening into night—learning to receive them as gentle invitations to pause and ask Jesus for rest. Befriending reality, the theme for this week, means noticing the way God is present in these moments, even amidst interruptions, obligations, and change.

Today, we take a step that shifts the way we think about our schedules altogether: creating a to-rest list. We are so accustomed to measuring our days by what we accomplish—or what we fail to accomplish—but what if rest shaped our week as intentionally as our tasks?
